The Hammers want to congratulate Birmingham Hammers' goalkeeper, Pritchard Ndaira, for earning a trial with Charlotte Independence. The Charlotte Independence play in the USL and are affiliated with the MLS' Colorado Rapids.
After playing collegiate soccer at Faulkner University, Ndaira helped lead the Hammers to a successful inaugural season. He will start his trial today with the Independence.
Ndaira is excited about the opportunity to train with the Independence and noted “I am really grateful for the help that Coach Joel Person, Chazz Romeo and the entire Hammers organization have given me.”
Hammers' Head Coach Joel Person added, “One of the goals of the Hammers organization is to help our players reach their future aspirations in the game. I am excited to have been able to help Pritchard get the opportunity to train with the Charlotte Independence. He is a good player with a lot of potential and this is another step forward in helping him achieve his aspirations of being a professional goalkeeper.”
Head Goalkeeping Coach, Chazz Romeo, had this to say, "I've enjoyed training and watching Pritchard develop in a professional environment. I'm excited to watch his future as a goalkeeper and expect great things to come."
President and General Manager, Morgan Copes, was elated with the news of the trial saying, "I think it just speaks to the quality of organization we have been able to put together in such a short amount of time. From the coaching staff down to the players themselves. They conducted themselves as professionals this summer, and I am confident Pritchard will be the first of many players to earn trials with professional clubs."
Be sure to send your good luck wishes to Pritchard on our Facebook page!
